President Obama Has A Boulevard

The City of Los Angeles has renamed Rodeo Drive to President Barack Obama Boulevard.
The official dedication ceremony attracted more than 10 thousand people near the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson took the stage to welcome leaders who partnered with his office to host the event including Mayor Eric Garcetti, L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and L.A. Urban League President and Chief Executive Michael Lawson.

As a photojournalist in Florida I covered the 80’s Miami Riots, the Cuban flotilla, Cocaine Cowboys, as well as political corruption in local government. Additionally, I photographed the cover of Terrence Roberts’ book “Lessons From Little Rock and co-produced the documentary “Louder Than Rock.” As a veteran writer and photojournalist I have published articles and photographs in a variety of publications among them the Pasadena Star News, Pasadena Journal, Our Weekly, Los Angeles Sentinel, Inland Valley News, LA Daily News, The Whittier Daily News and the National Association of Black Journalists Journal.
